Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will you share my information with anyone?
A. Absolutely not. Our conversations will be confidential. It is an ethical requirement that I take very seriously, while also providing more confidence and trust. In addition, I never judge behaviors, feelings or lifestyle choices.
Q. How do I know if I should seek therapy?
A. Psychotherapy can help address a broad range of issues and sources of anxiety. Most everyone will benefit from some therapy – it helps to talk things out. Still, if you are experiencing with frequency any of the following symptoms, therapy may be the right choice for you: depression, crying, sleep disturbances, loss of appetite, lack of motivation, easily frustrated, feeling of hopelessness or helplessness, sense of being overwhelmed, relationship challenges, work stressors.
Q. How often would I see a therapist?
A. After I meet with a patient once or twice, we establish a preliminary treatment plan with goals and objectives. After we have identified the areas in which I can be helpful, I will suggest frequency. Typically, I see a patient once or twice a week.
Q. Do you accept insurance? If so, will my insurance cover therapy?
A. I accept many insurance plans and most insurances will cover some portion of therapy. When you call to set up an appointment we will determine whether my fees are covered ( subject to co-pays and deductibles).
Q. What if I have to cancel an appointment?
A. I require 24 hours notice for no charge. If you cancel within the 24 hour period, unless there are very unusual circumstances, I charge a cancellation fee equal to the session fee.
